CPRC Community Cookbook

(one day this will be printed -- for now, let's just share!)

This is a work in progress: the first-ever Cheverly Parents Resource Center Community Families Cookbook. There are so many terrific cooks in Cheverly, and we’ve induced some of the very best to share their personal recipes with us.

We all lead busy lives…and we seem to get busier every day! Cooking with your children – and more importantly, making time for family meals – does a great deal of good for families. You can foster a life-long love of cooking, and exploring different cultures through food. You can also teach your children about healthy eating habits and sound nutrition. In fact, getting kids into the kitchen can be a beneficial supplement to school work in nearly every subject.

Kids who eat meals regularly with their families are less likely to use tobacco, alcohol, or illegal drugs. Teens are less likely to have sex at young ages, get into fights, or be suspended from school. By connecting with your kids over a meal, you can provide a great example and get involved in what happens in their lives every day. The simple daily ritual of a family meal can provide many years of benefits…and a tradition that your children can carry on with their own children. We hope you find many tasty new recipes to try with your family.

Many thanks to the families who have already contributed to the cookbook. If you'd like to share some of your own great family recipes, please contact us.
