Participating in playgroup is a great way to get to know other families with young children in Cheverly!
CPRC Playgroup meets Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the town center in cold weather and at Gast Park (also known as "Cheese Park") in warm weather. Playgroup group is geared toward young children (birth to preschool) but school-age siblings can join us in the summer months.
Once a month, we hold a special Birthday Playgroup. We gather all the children and sing Happy Birthday to the kids (and adults) celebrating their birthday that month. Everyone is invited to bring munchies to share. Refer to the calendar on the home page for specific dates.
Playgroup also hosts a dress-up party for Halloween, a winter holiday party, summer breakfasts at the Arboretum, and other special events.
The group is very free-form. Come when you want, as little or as often as you want, for however long you want. Playgroup is FREE for member of the CPRC.
Location changes, special events, and other news are posted on our playgroup listserve. To learn more about playgroup, please contact our playgroup coordinator.
Sick policy: All kids get sick. It's okay to attend playgroup if your child has the sniffles, BUT if your child has run a fever or has had a stomach bug, please keep them home for a full 24 hours after the fever breaks/intestinal issues have passed. We're trying to teach the kids to share, but we'd rather not share illnesses.
These rules are for the safety of all the children and for the happy continuation of playgroup for years to come. We thank all our parents, grandparents and caregivers for their attention and assistance.
When attending playgroup in the Community Center Gym:
Playgroup is a free service provided by CPRC and supported by the town of Cheverly. If you do not comply with these policies, you may be asked to leave.
