Cub Scouts Comes to Cheverly

Come and learn about Cub Scouting and join a great program for boys right here in Cheverly! The Inaugural meeting for Pack 257 will be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at 7pm at the American Legion Hall in Chevelry.

They have a committed group of Pack leaders planning a great Cub Scout program. There is a a Tiger Den (grade 1), Wolf Den (grade 2), Webelos 1 Den (grade 4). A Bear Den for Grade 3 may be formed down the road.

Regular registration is $85 per year.

Cheverly Advocates for Public Schools (CAPS)--Open to all members of the Cheverly community focused on the improvement of all of our public school options.

Cheverly Bike Club--A biking resource for the Cheverly Maryland community.

Cheverly Boys and Girls Club--Offers a variety of sports programs for children between the ages of 6 and 16.

Cheverly Community Market--Buy local. Eat local.

Cheverly History Club--Encourages research on the history of Cheverly and helps disseminate the findings of such research.

Cheverly Police and Citizens Together (C-PACT)--Works to find ways to improve the quality of life of all Cheverly residents, and to provide the Chief of Police with a “sounding board” to discuss new ideas and develop ways to reduce crime. 6

Cheverly Young Actors Guild--Offers local youth professional training and performance opportunities in the magical world of the dramatic arts.

Friends of Lower Beaverdam Creek--A hands-on education and advocacy organization working to restore the health of Lower Beaverdam Creek and the Anacostia River.

Progressive Cheverly--Promotes economic fairness, social justice, basic human rights, a sustainable environment, a tolerant society and world peace through a more informed political dialogue and active participation in civil society and the democratic political process.
